Giving Thanks in 2012Saints 2012 is here. God has given us another year to live and declare the works of the Lord. Last year many of us had challenges that at times seemed insurmountable. We did not know how we were going to make it through but His faithfulness saw us through. Praise be to God who always leads us in triumph through Jesus Christ. This is a year of giving thanks to God. I find this to be a very powerful and profound theme. The Bible says your traditions make void the Word of God. We as the body of Christ have been trapped into doing things the same way to the point where we just go into God's presence begging all the time.

In Psalms 100:4 it says I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart and His courts with praise. There is a protocol to approaching God. Unfortunately most people do what they have seen others doing but have never considered what the Scriptures teach.

I think the reason why many people find it difficult to thank God is because we trivialize the things God has done for us. The book of Timothy says one of the characteristics of the apostasy of the last days is unthankfulness.

Ungratefulness is a terrible malady that plagues many people. It make us to be unappreciative, we somehow feel we are entitled to certain things. In order to be thankful we have to know what the Lord has done for us.

Praise the lord. The year has come to an end. We need to thank the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness to us 2010. Now we must prepare ourselves for the new year.

These are the last days which the prophet Isaiah spoke about saying “darkness shall cover the land and gross darkness the people” then in the next verse he says arise and shine for thy light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you

On Tuesday, May 11th, Pastor Paul Arthurs and Pastor Caleb Mashushire of FIFMI Indiana travelled to Bermuda to minister, and to begin the work of Forward in Faith in the country.  Below is a message received from Pastor Paul.

BermudaI am blessed to be in the breathtaking country of Bermuda along with my brother pastor Caleb from Forward In Faith Indianapolis.  We are one of the 22 teams that are claiming new territory in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ on behalf of God’s humble servant Apostle Ezekiel Guti.

As far as I can remember I have assumed that the last chapter of Proverbs was for women only.  I was familiar with the many accolades bestowed upon its author most memorably by Jesus our Lord who credited him as the wisest man (excluding Himself) that has graced the planet in all of history.  But, Proverbs 31 was none of my business, so I thought; until one day I heard my pastor preach an exegetical sermon from this very chapter entitled “A Wise Woman’s Talk with Her Son”.  I concluded if this was speaking to men I was not exempt and it was therefore in my best interest to glean every drop of wisdom I could extract, Solomon now had my attention.
A penetrating question directed to men is presented in Proverbs 31:10.  Who can find a virtuous woman?  For years I would simply interpret that verse to say a good woman is hard to find, but upon deeper reflection I find this to be a loaded question.  Mrs. Ruth Wakefield intending to make chocolate cookies substituted it with broken pieces of semi-sweet chocolate and accidentally stumbled upon one of the greatest discoveries known to man – the chocolate chip cookie.  However, contrary to Mrs. Wakefield’s unplanned invention, the discovery of a virtuous woman is never accidental but intentional.  A foolish man has neither interest nor use for a virtuous woman, and therefore makes no effort to pursue what is costly.  Furthermore, since he has no concept of value, he pathetically prioritizes the cheap thrill of immediate gratification ignoring the treasure of a lifetime.
In the Bible, Boaz perceives the value of Ruth and takes her as his wife while Nabal, whose name means fool, was married to Abigail a virtuous woman and dies incapable of recognizing the priceless treasure right under his nose.  For any man to qualify as the “Who” to which Solomon was referring must make it his life’s ambition to commit to at least two things concerning the discovery of a virtuous woman: Commit to pursue her and commit to appreciate her.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. As far as I can remember I have assumed that the last chapter of Proverbs was for women only.  I was familiar with the many accolades bestowed upon its author most memorably by Jesus our Lord who credited him as the wisest man (excluding Himself) that has graced the planet in all of history.  But, Proverbs 31 was none of my business, so I thought....

ApostlePaul-AncientGreeceI’m always inspired by those who have humble beginnings but achieve greatness in spite of disadvantages.  The apostle Paul addresses the church in Corinth, which was divided in their allegiance; some said they were with Peter, others Apollos and the rest with Paul (I Corinthians 1:12).  In the midst of this confusion, Paul speaks with unwavering confidence yet humility in the same breath.  He says “By the grace of God I am what I am”
